Introducing the Bush War Boot — Born in Battle, Shaped by History, Built for the Bush.
Inspired by the legendary combat boots worn by soldiers during the Bush Wars across Africa, the Bush War Boot is a tribute to decades of rugged fieldcraft, adapted for the modern outdoorsman. Every detail is built with purpose — a fusion of traditional bush warfare design and Jim Green’s proven boot making expertise.
This boot brings the past into the present: combining military-tested functionality with durable, locally sourced leather and heritage-driven construction. It’s a boot designed for those who demand more — whether in the field, on the range, or in everyday rugged use.
Crafted with high quality leather and reinforced in high-wear areas, the boot offers unmatched breathability and resilience. A double layer of leather at the heel, a built-in canvas layer in the toe box, and a thermoplastic toe puff give it the support and structure needed for demanding terrain, without sacrificing comfort.
Its signature double buckle straps at the ankle aren’t just for show — they provide time-tested advantages: added ankle stability, debris protection, and a custom fit that adapts as the boot breaks in. Originally used by elite units across Africa, this buckle system gave soldiers extra security in unforgiving conditions — a feature just as relevant today for rangers, farmers, and outdoor professionals.
A veg tan leather midsole and genuine crepe rubber sole give the boot reliable grip, durability, and ground feel. Beneath the surface, a wooden shank adds just the right amount of structure for long days on foot, while a built-in leather half sock cradles the heel for comfort with every step.
Finished with a 360-degree double-stitch-down construction and fully gusseted tongue, the Bush War Boot is fully resoleable, made to serve through years of wear.
