The African Ranger Barefoot Boot is all about keeping things natural and comfy for your feet. It’s like giving your feet a smooth ride on level ground. Plus, there’s lots of space up front in the toe area, so your big toe and pinkie toe can spread out without feeling squished against the sides. These boots are like your foot’s best friend – they’re super flexible and can bend and twist just like your foot would. The soles are thin, so you can feel the ground beneath you better. Going barefoot-style is where the magic happens. No need to worry about springs in your toes or fancy arch support. These boots let your feet do their thing naturally. Product Care

The best way to preserve your Jim Greens is through regular and correct polishing. Water, heat and wear remove the natural oil from the leather, so when the tiny fibres dry out they become hard, brittle and break easily, thereby shorten the life of the leather.
For our leather boots we recommend any natural shoe polish found at your local store. For our suede options we suggest light brushing to remove dirt and a scotchguard for longer protection.
After a long day in wet conditions and you requiring your boots early the next morning, the worst possible solution is to artificially dry your boots. Leather fibres burn easily – especially when wet and therefore should never be left near a heater, placed in your oven or left in direct sunlight. For the best results, footwear should be dried out slowly and never subjected to any extreme heat. Should you work in constantly wet conditions, it is best to alternate between two or more pairs of our Jim Green boots.

We realise that buying footwear online is a daunting task and we are often asked to recommend a size by new Jim Green customers. If you happen to purchase a pair of Jim Green boots online and they do not fit, we will happily exchange them for you. If the measurements fall in-between the lengths provided, we do offer half sizes on certain styles. We can recommend a size but we can’t guarantee the fit.

    Amazing! Such high quality materials. They give a real barefoot feel but with added toughness. Barefoot shoes are notoriously fragile, but not these beauties. Perfect work boots or hiking boot for those needing the toe room and barefoot style but also looking for quality and toughness. Cannot recommend more.

    Amazing boots, everything good said about them is true, the only thing better than the boots was the service. I accidentally ordered the wrong size, the team allowed me to send my boots back and get my actual size for no cost when it was completely my fault.

    On the whole a nice boot, ruggedly built, very affordable, with a very good, true to size fit. I was hoping to really love them, but I did run into some potential quality control issues in the pair I received.

    On receiving the boot I noticed some stray glue marks, on one of the heels and one of the toe covers, but they were inconspicuous enough that they didn’t bother me too much. Unfortunately in my limited wear-in period the right-hand toecap quickly developed moderately deep, striated wrinkles, that look somewhat unsightly when the light hits them in the wrong way. Generally I’m fine with marks and patina, but the level of wrinkling surprised me, and I’m assuming this will get more pronounced over time. This isn’t a big deal if you’re main goal is hiking and outdoor work where looks are less of a concern, but I’d been hoping to use them in causal settings as well.

    I tried emailed Jim Green with photos, asking for some care advice, but didn’t hear back. I’ve since attempted to use some nubuck conditioner to soften the wrinkles, but my efforts haven’t been that successful. I’ve been contemplating maybe trying to use some dubbin (or something similar) to re-hydrate and condition the leather, but that’s a more invasive step and will change its properties significantly.

    All that said, I’m still expecting to get good use out of them, and for the money they’re hard to beat. I really hope Jim Green continues to make barefoot boots like these and shipping them to Australia. I’m still contemplating picking up a Houston brown pair, as they seem really nice too. Hopefully I’ll have better luck with them!

    Quite possibly the best shoe I’ve ever owned.

    The weight of your average sneaker, the protection of a boot. Bought some extra sets of flat laces (125ish cm on the size 12.5) so I can mix and match with whatever I’m wearing.

    Also, if you’re a martial artist, this is the shoe you’re seeking. The wider toebox to fully articulate my feet is a great help for training outside, and the amount of feedback I can pick up from the ground in each step is great for feeling connected to the earth.

Jim Green proudly offers free shipping to Australia and shipping is done via Australia Post. Tracking number & details delivered via e-mail after order is processed.

All orders will be processed within 48 hours of receipt and sent from our warehouse Orders are processed and packed on normal business days (Monday through Friday)

 

RETURNS & EXCHANGES

60 DAY RETURN/EXCHANGE WINDOW

In the event something doesn't quite work, we'll gladly accept unworn or defective merchandise for return or exchange.

Only 1 free return will be allowed. There after you will need to cover postage on exchanges.

 

RETURNS AND EXCHANGES ARE EASY!

Locate your order number and ship-to zip code. This info is in your order confirmation email, on your shipping label, and on your packing slip.

This will take you to the returns/exchange portal. Just follow the prompts. You'll be able to choose what you'd like to do and get a Australia Post return label.

Print up the UPS return label you've just created and give the package to your postal carrier.

 

EXCHANGES AND RETURNS - FREE RETURN LABEL

The fastest and easiest way to get the correct size, color or style is to place a new order. The cost to return your order is on us!

If you are just wanting to return your order then please follow the same steps.

Your original order must then be sent back to our depot in their unworn condition with their original box and inserts within 60 days of their delivery.

Once received at the depot your order will then be refunded by a credit to your original method of payment, provided all the above criteria is met.

Once received all refunds will be processed within 10 business days.

 

REFUNDS

All refunds will be credited back to the original form of payment. If you paid with a Gift Card, your refund will be issued back to that gift card.
