Building on the success of the original Barefoot African Trooper and the highly acclaimed AnatomX Barefoot African Ranger, this new design brings together the best of both worlds—a tall, rugged leather boot built on our anatomically shaped barefoot last for the most natural fit and feel yet.

Designed for those who demand durability, comfort, and freedom of movement, the AnatomX Barefoot African Trooper follows the natural shape of the foot from heel to toe. The anatomically shaped zero-drop last allows your feet to sit naturally, while the generously wide toe box gives your toes room to spread and function as intended, improving comfort, stability, and overall foot health.

The high-cut Trooper design provides additional ankle support and protection when tackling demanding terrain, making it equally at home on the trail, at work, or during everyday adventures. Paired with our Africa Barefoot sole, the boot delivers excellent ground feel, flexibility, and grip while maintaining the toughness and reliability Jim Green boots are known for.

With no artificial arch support and a highly flexible construction, the AnatomX Barefoot African Trooper allows your feet to bend, flex, and move naturally with every step. Combining traditional South African and American bootmaking influences, this collaboration with Rose Anvil creates a boot that is purpose-built for those seeking a truly natural walking experience without compromising on durability.

The AnatomX Barefoot African Trooper is a tall barefoot boot designed to move with you—wide, tough, comfortable, and ready for wherever the journey takes you.

Manufactured with a single layer of leather (2.3mm Oily Pull Up Full Grain leather).
The Heel area is manufactured with a double layer of 2.2mm Oily Oily Pull Up Full Grain leather for added durability.
8-inch height for excellent support, comfort and protection.
The Africa Wide sole is designed to give excellent grip and durability while mimicking the feel of walking any terrain barefoot.
The Heel stiffener is built in for ankle support and protection.
A fully gusseted tongue.
NO STEEL SHANK.
A 3mm leather midsole for added comfort, flexibility and feel underfoot.
Built with leather half sock liner for extra heel cushioning.
The leather midsole is secured to the upper with a full 360-degree double-stitched 2.2mm braided nylon cord.
The heavy-duty speed hooks and eyelets to help secure your feet.
As with all our boots, these can be resoled due to their double stitch down construction.
Our Barefoot boots come with a built-in leather half sock/insert. They do not come standard with a leather insert/footbed.
Barefoot Anatomical last – This last has a 4E wide fit and offers a zero drop fit with an anatomical foot-shaped spacious toe box (This offers a wide fit and extra room that allows for a more natural barefoot experience).
Sole: Africa Barefoot Sole (This sole is designed for durability and grip. It is a genuine rubber and of a softer feel to provide comfort underfoot).
